View Article  Jody Victor : FrankBert is now part of the Bay Activity

What is a FrankBert?

I was asking myself the same question.  First you must get the whole family out on the water if you are a Bert fan like the rest of us.  Then invite your friends with their See Doo’s to join you.  Position your family in a boat and cruise the Sandusky Bay and watch the Sea Doo’s in action.

The FrankBert is a once in a lifetime move.  It requires expertise and athleticism.  Frank moves in on the left of Bert and Bert turns to his left and then the FrankBert begins as the two Sea Doo’s collide.  Frank flies over Bert removing the steering assembly of Bert’s Sea Doo and cracking the rear view mirror and dislodging Bert.  Bet meanwhile ducks, bobs, weaves and dives with a full twist into the water avoiding both Sea Doo’s.

A spectacular display!!  Frank never leaves the seat of his Sea Doo and Bert surfaces out of the water with a smile.  The end result is a long tow back to the marina.  Frank tows Bert’s disabled Sea Doo while Bert rides back in the boat with family.

No one injured, no one hurt, no one angry but all safe and sound.

When Kathy and I ride our Sea Doo’s we do not often have an opportunity to see a FrankBert.  We have heard stories from Billy, Fred and Orrin but never one quite like this one.

Congratulations to Frank and Bert for the maneuver never to be repeated yet it will grow larger than life.

View Article  Port Clinton, Ohio on Lake Erie

Port Clinton was named to honor DeWitt Clinton, who was known as "the Father of the Erie Canal," by city founder Ezekiel Smith Haines. Haines laid out the town as a plat with space reserved for parks and lots for a courthouse, hotel, bank, churches, and more. For a first-time or returning tourist, Port Clinton offers a variety of activities. As you drive down the main lakeside road, you will see a wide, sandy public beach with a large park area across the street. In downtown Port Clinton there are shops, hotels, and restaurants to experience. Just the right blend of quiet and excitement friends Jody and Kathy Victor, Orrin and Laurie Woodward, Fred and Linda Harteis, and Billy and Peggy Florence would enjoy. Fishing trips can be chartered in season, or you can take a ferry to visit the Lake Erie islands. Any way you look at it Port Clinton is a quiet lakeside community within minutes of most Lake Erie attractions.

View Article  Jody Victor : "CEDAR POINT AGAIN VOTED BEST AMUSEMENT PARK IN THE WORLD"
Can you imagine an Amusement Park with "Four Rollercoaster’s ranked in the Top Ten?" For the seventh straight year Cedar Point has earned the title of "Best Amusement Park in the World." Four of Cedar Point’s rollercoaster’s were ranked in the Top Ten steel coasters in the world.

Millennium Force was rated Number One baby!!! Climb onboard a 310 foot high ride with speed you will not soon forget. My kids love to ride the "Force" even though the line is usually one hour and thirty minutes. There are lockers for you to place any loose items. From the water the Force is easily visible and it looks awesome!!! It debuted in 2000, travels at 93 miles per hour along 6,595 feet of track but don’t pack a lunch it is fast. Two minutes and twenty seconds from start to finish and your hair will display the speed, fun and laughs. It broke ten world records when it debuted in 2000 including a three hundred foot drop.

Magnum XL-200 was ranked as the Number Three steel rollercoaster in the world. It stands at 205 feet high and debuted in 1989. This ride is very popular and so far has given more than 26.7 million rides. In 2001 alone this scream machine gave 2,130,694 rides. Be sure you are 48 inches tall or you will be denied the ride. Magnum has 5,106 feet of steel tubular track that runs through Soak City water park along Lake Erie shoreline. Imagine hearing the screams over head as you enjoy the Park and Lake Erie or seeing the spectacular views and you give yourself a screaming ride.

Top Thrill Dragster came in at Number Seven. The Dragster is in only its’ second year. This is a rocket as I have shared in a previous blog.

Raptor was Number Ten. This is still Kathy’s favorite rollercoaster in the Park. Raptor dangles you in the air. You are sitting in a car but your feet are hanging down with a big hydraulic harness placed over you as you sit on a bicycle seat. The speed and twisting is awesome!! When you walk through the park you can hear the screams over head.

Billy, Fred and Orrin can’t wait to ride all four. Kathy and I are heading for the Dragster on our next visit.

Cedar Park is located in a perfect spot and I can see the lights of the Park from our home on Sandusky Bay. The yellow Dragster tower is visible to Kathy and I as we view the Bay at night with the awesome moon light.

View Article  Jody Victor : Cedar Point is expanding.

Can you feel the attraction to Cedar Point year round? Kathy and I were wondering what we would do at Cedar Point in the winter and soon our answer will be finished.

Castaway Bay is nearly 80 per cent completed. In two months Cedar Point will have an indoor waterpark named Castaway Bay. Cedar Point is already taking reservations and New Year’s Eve is the most popular date selected so far!!

Bring in the New Year with Billy, Fred and Orrin along with our families at a safe family oriented waterpark sounds terrific!! Kathy and I love the water and the new waterpark will provide excitement.

The Radisson is spending $22 million to provide rooms for those who wish to spend the night. The exterior of the Radisson has been changed to reflect the tropical feel of Castaway Bay. The rooms will all have a refrigerator for our XS energy drinks and a microwave for the popcorn. There are presently 237 rooms at the Radisson.

I can’t wait to try the water roller coaster or the 11 water slides, a 100,000 gallon wave pool or maybe just relax in the whirlpool spas. The children will have a playpool too.
